Spielberg Has Stolen Painting in Collection

The FBI can cross one crime off its list; one that was committed over 33 years ago! Steven Spielberg's staff ran across a website that the FBI had put together that had stolen artwork on it, and they recognized a Norman Rockwell piece that was hanging in the boss's office.

Spielberg had purchased the oil painting through a legitimate art dealer back in 1989, and neither had any idea that it was stolen. The piece was originally stolen from a St. Louis, Missouri gallery, and is now worth over $700,000. Spielberg will retain custody of the work until its "disposition can be determined", the FBI said in a statement.
