"My Grammy Moment" Winner Axed from 'Idol'
It's news to me, though maybe not to others who have been paying attention, that Robyn Troup, the My Grammy Moment winner, was also an 'American Idol' contestant. I watched an episode of the auditions, but haven't really had a lot of time to focus on 'Idol' much so far. I did catch a minute or so of Troup's Grammy performance alongside Justin Timberlake, and I thought she was good, so it really surprises me to read this morning that she was eliminated already from 'American Idol'.
Robyn Troup, the winner of the My Grammy Moment contest who sang alongside Justin Timberlake at the awards show Sunday, making a brief appearance in the Hollywood round of American Idol Tuesday night before getting sent home by the judges. Sure, she might be good enough for the Grammys, but apparently she's just not of Idol caliber.
Wasn't last night, like, the first night of actual competition? How did someone that good, who was allowed to sing at the Grammy's, so bad that she gets thrown out right off the bat from 'Idol'? I don't get it, but it makes me wonder about my previous posting of that show being fixed somehow.
Any thoughts?
