The National Enquirer reports that the Australians think Debra Messing is acting stank, but I'm sorry - stingrays kill and no one likes the heat.
The "Will & Grace" star, who is currently filming "The Starter Wife" in subtropical Queensland, is afraid to swim in the ocean because she doesn't want to die like Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin!
"Despite the exotic location, she's refusing to go anywhere near the water because she's convinced that a stingray will kill her, like it did Steve Irwin," an insider on the set told The ENQUIRER.
"She was invited to go snorkeling on the Great Barrier Reef and she freaked out, saying, 'I'm not going anywhere near the water! No thanks!'"
Having a fear of the water is one thing, but locals say the 38-year-old actress is "snippy and sarcastic, with a diva personality."
"I told them I am not going in the ocean," Debra said in an interview. "I told them I need a stunt double."
Sources say Messing - who's been dubbed Debra the Diva by those working on the movie - has also been complaining about the tropical heat.
"It seems like if it's not one thing with her it's another," added the source. "Complaining about the hot weather is just plain silly. "If Debra would just get over her childish fear about the ocean and go into the water, she'd cool down!"
I'd request two stunt doubles, so when one is killed by a stingray the other can step up. Don't call me ridiculous, I know what goes on. And when it's hot, people mop their brows and say "damn, it's hot". Get over it. People are whiny, it's the friggin' human condition.
